EXOUSIA


During Fashion Week, which took place from September 23 to October 1 in Paris, EXOUSIA, a still little-known Gabonese brand, made a remarkable entrance by presenting its ready-to-wear collection at the Fondation Biermans-lapôtre in the 14th arrondissement. At first, it was my curiosity that pushed me to discover them, but the welcome, the organization and the decor of the place truly transported me. Influential personalities, bloggers, influencers and other guests participated in this event. Before the show, we were granted exclusive access, with a showroom of approximately 30 minutes in an intimate setting, hosted by image consultants, immersing the guests with detailed explanations on each piece and the materials used, advice, and exchanges directly with the stylist and the brand team, asking questions and gaining insights on the inspiration and the creative process behind each garment. This experience allowed guests to feel privileged and better understand the commitment. Then, it was time for the fashion show. The change of room created an immersive atmosphere, with a decor carefully designed to reflect the elegance and authenticity of the brand.

During the show, models showcased the key pieces. The staging and music created an electrifying atmosphere, captivating the guests. Highlights included the stylist’s moving speech, who shared her journey, vision, and inspirations. An unexpected moment, such as a surprise performance, added a cultural touch to the event. Finally, I was able to conduct a spontaneous interview with the stylist.

Dany: Hello, can you please explain to me what "EXOUSIA" means?

Shanen: EXOUSIA is a Greek term meaning “authority” or “power”, I chose this name to symbolize the empowerment of women through fashion.

Dany: What does EXOUSIA actually talk about that sets it apart from other ready-to-wear brands?

Shanen: EXOUSIA is a premium ready-to-wear brand launched in 2021. It stands out for its unique creations made in Gabon, using natural colors to promote ethical and responsible fashion. EXOUSIA embodies femininity in all its diversity and power, with the suit as its centerpiece, elegant and bold, carefully designed to enhance the authority and power of women. All while remaining faithful to a refined and contemporary aesthetic.

The brand's clothing is created to give women a sense of power and authority, whether in their professional or personal lives.

EXOUSIA aims to strengthen the influence of women in all spheres of their lives, whether at work, at home or in the community.

The brand celebrates the diversity of women and their ability to be leaders in different contexts. Wearing EXOUSIA clothing is meant to inspire confidence and make women feel strong and capable of achieving their ambitions.

In short, “EXOUSIA” is about the empowerment of women and their ability to exert a positive and powerful influence in all aspects of their lives.
