The Cartier Foundation honors the Mali Twist exhibition in memory of Malick Sidibé, a great and immense photographer of the sixties who knew how to captivate and adapt to his time through his diversity.
He imposed his style of beauty in the image of Africa through photographs, portraits, clothing, atmosphere, joy of living and vintage objects found in his archives.
I really immersed myself in the life of the eye of Bamako. Quite simply Twist.
Mali Twist refers to the eponymous song by Malian singer and guitarist Boubacar Traoré, released in 1963.
If you like photography, the exhibition ends on February 25, 2018 with a program of activities, concerts, popular balls, traditional puppets, traveling photo studio and meetings around music and dance that will punctuate this event.
