Invited to the Salon de la Photo in Paris, which took place last October at the Grande Halle de la Villette, I had the opportunity to participate in this event for the first time. My role consisted of creating visual content, sharing stories and live videos on social networks, promoting new products and interacting with exhibitors, all in a creative atmosphere to demonstrate the importance of this event.

Exhibitors included renowned brands such as Canon, Nikon, Sony, Sigma, Tamron, Profoto, Godox and Adobe Lightroom , to name a few. They showed us the latest in equipment, accessories and editing software. I was able to discover specific tools essential for photography, as well as lenses for portraiture. I also participated in workshops to improve my techniques.

Of course, there were exhibitions, competitions, conferences and workshops with specialized photographers, such as Marc-Henri Ngandu, who presented his work by highlighting the use of the SIGMA fp, a camera he uses to capture fashion images with a creative and personal approach. This allowed me to interview him. Here is an excerpt from our conversation.

Dany : Hello, my name is Dany. During your presentation, I noticed that you have a different approach to your fashion shots. Tell me about your artistic approach.

Marc-Henri : Hello, I adopt a spontaneous and authentic style during Fashion Week by focusing on the silhouette and atypical faces to tell a story. Usually, during Fashion Week, everyone focuses on the models and the shows, but not on the public that makes this event famous. By that I mean the backstage, the people in the street, the makeup artists, the hairdressers, from the smallest to the largest, who go almost unnoticed. I try, through my artistic eye, to bring to life the people we don't see by capturing images and highlighting the details isolated from the rest of the image. I experiment with different techniques and use methods such as collage and folding to enrich my works.

Dany : Thank you for giving me this moment.

Another meeting with the DJ who hosted at Nikon during the Photo Show in Paris

Tysha Cee, originally from Congo, is a talented woman who helped create a dynamic and engaging atmosphere for visitors to the Nikon booth. I couldn't help but be curious.

Amazed, I wanted to know more about her motivations, knowing that it is a field relatively dominated by men, I approached her.

Dany : Hello, what led you to become a DJ?

Tysha : Hi, I am passionate about this profession. Because of my background, I have always been immersed in music. I was influenced and inspired by my family background. I was exposed to different musical varieties, which made this path logical for me. I travel a lot because of my profession and have worked with renowned artists such as King Promise, Burna Boy, Wizkid, as well as several brands like Nike, New Balance and L'Oreal.

Dany : Thank you very much (I compliment him).

I thank the Salon de la Photo in Paris for this enriching experience, full of discoveries and inspiring encounters. I look forward to participating in this event again.
